Willie Jones was a fighter from birth.

She was born on October 16, 1911

to Mr. and Mrs. Jones in Scotts, Mississippi
as the sixth child.

Known to many as “Chocolate” she was always busy,
simply a delight to be around until her family noticed a difference in her behavior at the tender age of three.

Little Willie stopped being an active child and she
became very ill. For many days she carried a fever in
excess of 100.

Her parents started preparing for her funeral.

But there was one doctor in town that recognized
the symptoms and he prescribed home
remedies to help - It worked!

This was one of many obstacles
Willie Jones had to overcome.

Mother Jackson
While working in the fields picking cotton, Ms. Willie endured many nights of aching limbs. But she knew that her work was not in vain.

Ms. Willie Jones gave her life to Christ at a young age and her spiritual connection with the Father became her fuel.

She continued working and feeding the community. When she saw others who were ill, her heart went out to them. She began taking care of them because she knew that it was by the grace of God that she was alive.

Ms. Willie would sing and sometimes even dance for those she helped.
Jumping rope was her favorite.

Although Ms. Willie spent many days assisting others she enjoyed raising her six children: Baby Brother, Pearlie May, Daisy, Walter, Warner and Mel.

Ms. Willie also has over 50 grand and great grandchildren.
She enjoyed raising her two grandchildren Ervin and Tina the most.

Ms. Willie (Mother Jackson) outlived four of her children and all of her siblings.

She was the oldest in her family and was a walking and breathing historian.

She lived by Psalm 23, which she recited December 2, 2012 at Pleasant Zion.

Mother Jackson always continued to spread her love.

At 101 plus years old - she put the “D” in DIVA!

Mother Jackson enjoyed visits from church members, family and friends.
She also enjoyed talking and giving kisses and hugs.

Her church was her true love.
Mother Jackson joined Plesant Zion in 1988 and since then, almost every member adopted her.

Just so you know, Acappella is singing a song with no music …

... and also ...

Being 101 plus years old and “Clothed in Her Right Mind”
Mother Jackson

also recited - from memory - in its entirety ...
PSALM 23

(unknown fact)
